Call for applicants – one intern available in 2012
The Kearny Alliance is encouraging bright motivated students from the Foreign Trade University
(FTU) in Hanoi with an interest in export trade of finished consumer goods to apply for our
internship, skills training and career development program.
Purpose
To provide an FTU Intern the opportunity to gain practical trade experience on a professional level,
to contribute to trade development for SMEs and their staff through export promotion, to further
the Kearny Alliance’s mission of Aid through Trade.
Job description
The Intern will work with Kearny Alliance Export Consultant Duy Pham in Hanoi under the Kearny
Alliance’s Vietnam Export Assistance Program whose aim is to provide sustainable jobs for people
employed by small and medium enterprises producing consumer goods.
It is expected that about 75% of the work will be online, and 25% spent in the field, interviewing
and training export suppliers in North Vietnam how apply the online export marketing platform to
win more export orders and inquiry management improvement.
Key performance indicators monitored are: supplier online activity, buyer inquiries generated,
export orders received and jobs created, among others.
Eligibility
Education Junior student majors in business, commerce, trade, marketing or related
disciplines at the Foreign Trade University
Experience Interest / experience in the export sector, desire to work in professional
business environment with focus on business-to-business communication.
Skills Attention to detail; Speak and write excellent English; familiar with export
terminologies and global trade, understands online marketing and sales.
Personal True passion for export trade. Keen on assisting producers throughout
Vietnam to sell products to buyers worldwide to create more jobs and help
people. Hardworking with the ability to build relationships with suppliers
and international buyers.
