Galec 2: Report Green Marketing workshop 21/6/2012

Many came to GALEC 2 prior to the workshop “GREEN MARKETING” with the aim of getting more friends.



Galecers got to know each other via the ice-breaking game named “BINGO”. In this game you had to find topic-related information about your partners and then write their name in the table on pieces of paper to make it become horizontal, cross or vertical lines.



In “free talk’’ part, it was great chances for us to share our views through a number of questions

How do you understand: Green Products; Green Marketing (Environmental Marketing or Ecological Marketing)?



They listed examples of green products and also of companies which did launch and have launched Green Marketing for their products



Why has Green Marketing been chosen by most Marketers these days?



What kind of consumers are you? And Why?



They were Blue Greens (Act against environment pollution; Avoid using products damaging the environment)



About Greenback Green (Favorably buy green products) customers

It seemed that no one was Sprouts (Think that environmental reasons are just on theory; Not buy green products if they have to pay more) or Grousers (Not educated about environment and think green products are costly) or Basic Browns (Totally don’t care about environmental and social issues)

The last section welcomed them with Group work

Your company is going to launch a product using Green Marketing Strategy
Suggestion: The use of Marketing Mix of Green Marketing (sometimes called Green Marketing Mix)
1. Green Product (environment friendly)
2. Green Price (based on green products strategy)
3. Green Place (the system of transporting, packaging, wholesalers, retailers, etc)
4. Green Promotion (tools of promotion: advertising, marketing materials, signage, white papers, web sites, videos and presentations by keeping people, planet and profits in mind)

They were hurried up to be about to introduce their products



It’s time to present new ideas



We experienced the 2 hour workshop with excitement and joy.
