Workshop: CITY LIFE VS COUNTRY LIFE
TIME: 6h30-8h00 p.m., Thursday 2/1/2014
VENUE: ETC Training English Center, No.196B Thai Thinh

There exist basic similarities and differences between the city life and the country life. The city usually makes us think about the fast and hurried pace of life while country often reminds us of peaceful scenes and leisure lifestyles. Choosing one place to live depends on your characteristics, and hence some people see city with advantages over country but others do not. Let’s come to GALEC on this Thursday to discuss more about distinctions between city and country life and share us the ideal places you wish to live in the future.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ GALEC 2 : Workshop "CITY LIFE VS COUNTRY LIFE" 2/1/2014 Citylifeandcountrylife_zps924ced58

I. Warm-up (15’)

II. Discussion (45’)

1. Where is your hometown? Tell us a little bit about your hometown life
What are the differences in living environment/facilities/price between your hometown and Hanoi (if any)?

2. Where is the better place to live, city or country? Why?
- In recent years, the urbanization of the Vietnam has increased significantly, especially in big cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang. That maybe the reason why so many people chose big cities to be their ideal residential areas. What are the causal factors?
- Nowadays, some youngsters after graduation left the big cities for the countryside to settle down because they believe that country makes their lives easier. Do you agree with their point of view?

3. As we know, Hanoi, known as the civilized capital of Vietnam, is an ideal destination for many people in hope of having high income and expending good services. Do you really want to settle permanently in Hanoi?
Why? (friendly people, civilized society, good educational environment, the higher chances of success...) How can you do to possess a house here?
And why not? (selfish people, high cost of living, environmental pollution, smoke and dust, traffic jams, contaminated water sources....)

4. Which places in Vietnam do you like living in most? If NOT, could you share us about an ideal place for living in your imagination?

III. Presentation - Q&A (30’)
