GALEC 2: Report for Workshop "DATING" 16/1/2014

~TOPIC: DATING~
All members sat in the circle and prepared to join the activities included in this workshop.
After introducing about myself, I asked everybody to play a so-called “best couple” funny game. We could consider this game as a severe competition amongst three couples. A girl and a boy in each couple, in order, had to explain available English words by their body languages and some words so that the another could guess exactly those words. All of three teams played with their best enthusiasms and attempts. The atmosphere at that time was so ebullient.

After finishing the game, we found out two couples which had the same score of 4 points. Therefore, I decided to ask the audiences to vote for the couple that they liked the most. While the couple 3 only got 1 vote, couple 2 got the great number of votes. Finally, the “best couple” title was awarded to couple 3 with valuable gifts including a Learning English online card which costed 250.00 VND and a X-Factory voucher 20%. After that, they shared their feelings when receiving this award. Astonishingly, the girl gave all galecers a lovely song called ” If you are happy” with a big hand of audiences. Indeed, they deserved it . Congratulation!!!

Moving on to Discussion part, everyone focused on discussing dating-related issues. Also, my group had a very exciting discussion. Mr Quan seemed to be quite shy when somebody mentioned his current dating. He admitted that he was still single. However, he was into a girl, but he was not ready to confess his love to her. Besides, we talked about the issue that a girl got married with a husband whose house was far from hers. Actually, a girl married a husband with such statue, she had to dealed with many different problems ranging from living environment to psychology.

Going to part 3, when I asked a quite sensitive question: “Are you dating now?” , everybody seemed to be shy and not to dare to reveal their secrets. Therefore, I quickly asked individuals. Ms Nhung shared her story that she was single and still waiting her partner who could make her moving (” rung động” -according to her original description). It was sure that she was picky =))))))) just kidding 
Then, we had an interesting debate about issues that had been so hot and sensational recently such as Dream motorbike,” Anhkhôngđòiquà”, 100.000 VND. Regarding the material love, many people were concerned that behaviors of the girl in the story” Dream motorbike” who was willing to split up with her boyfriend just due to his cheap motorbike were wrong . Also, they showed that she loved his money and possessions than himself. Particularly, a boy raised a laugh with his observation that about 80 percent the young men were using such kind of motorbike and what would happen if vietnemese girls thought the same as above girl. It was a definite dilemma^^

At 8:20 pm, later than the time planned, the workshop was ended. I informed the upcoming plans of club. Specifically, the next workshop would be held after Tet holiday. So, we could not meet each other for a long time. New Year was coming soon and expected to be filled with further fortune, happiness and success by all of us. Let’s forget all sadness and welcome New Year.
