20th November in Vietnam called “Vietnamese Teacher’s day” reminds everybody to remember their teachers who have been devoting a lot by teaching knowledge, sharing their own experience, guiding the directions or even encouraging spirit. It’s also an occasion for students to say thanks to their teachers for what they have done with all their hearts to help you pursue your dreams. For that reason, GALEC 2will have a workshop for this topic in this week. If you feel interested, let’s join with us this Thursday night and have unforgettable moments.

Part 1: Warm up (15 minutes)

Part 2: Free talk (35 minutes)

1. How important teachers are? Do you think there are some differences in their roles between the past and present?
2. Did you specially love or hate a teacher when you were in school? Tell us why?
3. There’s a saying “What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.”. What do you think about this opinion?
4. Do you think that the quality of educating in Vietnam is reducing day-by-day by bribery or cheating in examination?
The original meanings of Vietnamese Teacher’s Day have changed and many people instead take unfair advantage of the day for other purposes. What is your opinion about that? And please give some evidence to support your point.

Part 3: Presentation and Q&A (30 minutes)

Part 4: Group (30 minutes)
You will be divided into 4 groups. In each group, there will be a teacher and the others will be students in a class. Play a drama in which the teacher will teach the subject we suggest and try to make the lesson funny, exciting and effective. After that, we will vote to find out the best performance.
Suggested topics: Maths, Literature, English, History.
