GALEC 2: Report for "FRIENDs " 17/7/2014

"A friend is need is a friend indeed". Everybody need our own good friends to watch their back, to provide our timely assistance when we are down. Consequently, the atmosphere of our workshop was still excited, despite the notorious topic.



As usual, we have 4 groups in the workshop. Each members discussed eagerly and quite sincerely regarding to the topic. We all tried our best to contribute more ideas, to search for a better way on strengthening our friendship.





At the presentation part, there were a various range of arguments. I would like to summarize few main ideas:
1. "Friends" usually indicates a group of people who share the same thing, or same common things.
- Friends classification is necessary for almost people. It helps us behave appropriately to our friends, as well as building up our friendship. According to the ideas of attendees, there are few ways to categorize our friends:
+ Level of acquaintance.
+ Types of common activities.
2. It is our great happiness to have many best friends. Best friends mean someone who always ready to stand by your side whenever you are in troubles and need support from others. However, in my opinion, it is better to have more than one buddies since it is no good to disturb our close friends' life all the time. Everyone has their own privacy and we need to respect that.
3. There is no doubt to say that longtime friends need to be challenges. It is sometimes a must to put a friend in a test environment, to see whether he/she is a person we are looking for. I personally suppose there are several criteria to strengthen our friendship:
- Regular contact.
- Help our friends, especially when they are in difficulty.
- Participating in same activities, dealing with difficulty together.
- Sharing attitudes.
4. Currently we have more time friends than true friends. Finding a true friend require a long time. However, converting from time friends to true friends depends on your communication skills.
5. From my point of view, it is normal to a friendship between a boy and a girl. Obviously we should have a best friend of the opposite sex to seeking for the harmony in life.
6. There are few controversial arguments in this question. But the majority agree that a buddy is more important than a love from a first sign. Finding a true friend it is difficult and we need to spend at least several year to foster our friendship. Why do we have to scarify our good friend for such a momentary emotion?
