Galec 2: Report Food Safety Workshop 24/5/2012

It has been showery summer weather and seemed to ‘cry’ all days from the beginning of this week; yet, we were here to get our voice loud.
The workshop started with a small game called “Who am I”. Players with a piece of paper on their forehead were asked others questions to discover what kinds of food they are

“I know 3 seasons but one left I don’t know” J

After warm-up, we were excited to jump into Free Talk part.
In this part, members were divided into 3 groups to discuss many questions.

Are you worried about the food you eat? What are the healthy risks associated with the food you eat and also the way you enjoy them?

What food safety issues have you heard or read in the news?

How safe do you think canned, frozen and proceeded foods are?

Do you think that eating at home is safer than going out to eat?

Role play: A group of customers find out some frozen and proceeded meat stale and even expire in the most famous supermarket in this city. And then they have strong complaint about that issue. This seems to awake a new information wave about food
Task: You are going to hold the meeting at which the supermarket representative has to answer questions from customers, journalists about the above problem

Role play: You invite your friend to go out for eating; however, she/he refuses persistently because she/he always thinks that it’s harmful for her/him. How can you persuade her/him to go out with you?
