GALEC 2: Report for Workshop "COSMETIC SURGERY" 14/11/2013

At 6.30 p.m., everyone gathered in a circle and we get started!!! A little thing made us worried was at that time, there were only few members coming to Galec because of the bad weather. Hopefully, there would be more afterwards.
Because being afraid that the game would take lots of time, we decided to pass the “Introduction” part and go straight to the “Playing game”, which was called “New words”. We divided people into 4 groups and which group finished the 2 exercises in the shortest time would become the winner. This game gave us new words related to NAME OF OUR BODY PARTS IN ENGLISH. Group 3 and group 4 finished the game at the same time but Group 3 raised hands to sign the MC first so they got 5 points added as a bonus. Group 2 was loser with the total score of 44/50 and had to take punishment.

After that, coming to the second part “Free talk”, people were apparently excited to share their knowledge about “COSMETIC SURGERY” and also expressed their opinion about one of the current issues in our society which was CATTUONG cosmetic surgery clinic.

The first presenter was MS.GIANG who said that the first thing she came up with when hearing the words “cosmetic surgery” was big boobs. How disgusting >.<
The second one was Ms.Loan who excellently differentiated the 2 phrases cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery.


Ms.Tram was the next who talked about 4 main reasons why so many people had been pursuing
cosmetic surgery.
Next, we talk about the consequences of exploding the culture of cosmetic surgery for patients in particular and for this society in general.
And..the last part, also the most interesting part: debate
Topic: what is more important, your soul or your appearance.

Sometimes, the atmosphere was quite intense. Finally, each team protected their point very intelligently and as a consequence of that, no team admitted being beaten.
In conclusion, we not only had fun time but gained some knowledge about COSMETIC SURGERY.
