GALEC 2: Report for "MODERN GENERATION" 22/5/2014

At 6:30, it’s time for us to get started. All members stood in a circle and got ready for playing a game in Warm-up part. There was one member who stood in the centre of the circle gave a requirement to somebody else. For example “Who was wearing glasses, please change your position”. Someone that did not follow the requirement would lose. All members joined the game very lively and had so much fun. It was very a exciting beginning of the workshop.

After finishing the game, everybody started to discuss all of problems related to the topic mentioned in the handout.

Members were so eager to discuss that MC found difficult to interrupt them. After having their attention, MC asked them to move on part 3- presentation part. They were so excited for sharing, questioning, and asking until the workshop ended. Especially, there was very drastic controversy about the issue “Brain drain” in Vietnam nowadays. While some people supposed that we could not regard students who decided to stay in the foreign countries to work and live there as selfish ones, others thought that they should return to their homeland to contribute to their nation.

Another issue that was also controversial was “cooking abilities of modern women”. Most of members considered that skill as fundamental factor to maintain the family’s happiness.

After the workshop ended, some members came back to their homes, others gathered and seeking a restaurant for drinking, chatting, getting closer with each other. GALEC is not only a place where we can practice English but also a big home for making friend and relaxing.
