GALEC 2: Workshop "TET HOLIDAY" 21/2/2013

Tet has become so familiar, so sacred to the Vietnamese that when Spring arrives, the Vietnamese, wherever they may be, are all thrilled and excited with the advent of Tet, and they feel an immense nostalgia, wishing to come back to their homeland for a family reunion and a taste of the particular flavors of the Vietnamese festivals.
Although days-off of Tet holiday were over, Tet is still there. Join us to “re-enjoy” the taste of Tet






Part 1: Warm up (15 minutes)
Game: Quick and slow.

Part 2: Free talk (35 minutes)
1. Share with us about your Tet holiday. What did you do to celebrate it? What were your most memorable experiences? What makes you feel regret that you could not perform?
2. Did you visit pagodas or temples to pray a good new year? How do you think about the fact that nowadays there have been a lot of bad sights in these supernatural powered places such as: uncontrolled good selling, pavement encroaching of shops and parking- lots, etc. How do you think of it?
3. What do you often wish for yourself and your family during Tet? In Western countries, when people go to churches, they often pray peace, happy for their whole country. Do you think that Vietnamese are selfish when they just pray for themselves?
4. How do you think about lucky money? Is that a good tradition? Nowadays, it has been disguised as giving bosses a bribe, what is your opinion?
( Bribe: A sum of money of something valuable that you give or offer sb to persuade them to help you dishonestly)

Drinking Alcohol has been popular on Tet holiday especially with men. They consider it as a way to express their spirit and skill. But someone says that it is totally harmful to your health.
