Report for Workshop: OPTIMISM

Time: 6h30-8h30, Thursday 13/06/2013
Place: E-Connect Training English Center, No 198 Thai Thinh

MC Mai Phuong

All members sat in a circle, and got ready for speaking English. Each member was given 30 seconds for his/her introduction.

After speaking out the topic “Optimism”, MC.Phuong moved to the first part: Play a game. All members into 4 groups and each group was given a piece of paper in which there were 5 words containing letters in the wrong order. The task of each group was to put them in the correct order within 5 minutes. Finally, the winner was group 3 and they deserved to get the prize that was a lovely cake box.

Discussion part was one of the most expecting parts on that workshop. [img][/img][url]][/url]

- The atmosphere at that time was so exciting.-

I joined the group 1 and discussed with other partners and there was an argument about the definition of the optimism. Someone said that optimism is a feeling that almost people have. She supposed that whether everybody has either optimistic or pessimistic depends on each specific situation.

Members were so eager to discuss that MC found difficult to interrupt them. After having their attention, MC asked them to move on part 3- presentation part. They were so eager for sharing, questioning, and asking until the workshop ended. Especially, in this part, Mr Tai, the old key member of the club shared his point of view and gave the rest very useful lesson. This speech was supported by the members.

Next was the last past, the most interesting one, members had chance to show your talent in acting through situations to find out the most suitable advice for the character.

That was so funny performance and their solution to help the girl who turned a beautiful girl having everything into a girl having nothing was to find out a very good boy that loved and helped her overcome the current difficulty.

After the workshop ended, some members came back to their homes, others gathered and seeking a restaurant for drinking, chatting, getting closer with each other.

GALEC is not only a place where we can practice English but also a big home for making friend and relaxing.
