Workshop: YOUTH CAREER
Time: 6h30 – 8h30 Thursday 04.04.2013
Place: Smartlink English Center, No 3, Lane 196 Thai Thinh
(Note: Leave your vehicle at Viettin Bank 196 Thai Thinh)

The topic of this Thursday workshop was ”Youth career”. It was certainly an interesting topic. It was only about 5h30 p.m., but there were some members already coming and speaking English. Within one hour before the workshop was started officially, members made warm introduction about theirself, their job, and their dreams, etc.
After asking people to make a circle, the MC made a start by warm-up game- “Who speak faster?” These were 3 volunteers in the game. Each people would be given one English sentence, and his/her mission was to read that sentence five times as fast and correctly as possible. How’s about you? Could you read it fast and correctly?
1. The two-twenty-two train tore through the tunnel.
2. Nine nice night nurses nursing nicely.
3. The sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick.
Unfortunately, three players could not meet others’ requirement. They might only read either fast or correctly that resulted in being punished.
The punishment was that if 3 players were kinds of animals (not human being), and they had to make the sound of that animal five times. For instance, if you were a cat, you had to make the sound “meo…meo…meo…”. Finally, they turned into “a dog”, “a female chicken”, and “a bird”. How funny it was!
The atmosphere was hotter so we went on with the discussion part. The MC divided members into four groups, and asked them to count from one to four. By remembering their number, they moved to their place:

At the first time, there were only four groups, then some groups divided into two smaller groups to make sure that they could hear clearly others’ ideas:

Members discussed not only four questions on the handout but also a variety of relevant problems. Each people had their own ideal jobs, career prospects, but all of them were youngsters hoping for a bright career.
Because members concentrated too much on discussion, the MC had to stop them and reminded them about the time limitation for each part:

The next expecting part was Presentation and Q&A. There were too many people wanted to raise their voice.
Ms.Mai had entirely different ideas about ideal jobs and career planning process what the previous man mentioned to. She wanted to debate, however, she told her own story that she used to apply for many companies but she eventually had not been recruited. In her opinion, we could not choose the jobs and in reality, the jobs chose you as a suitable vacancy. Could you agree with her?

Many others expressed their opinion:

And that man:

We spent 30 minutes left for the “role play” part. In fact, because of time limitation, we might not play all situations on the handout.
The MC made the final decision of choosing situation. She divided people into three groups. Supposing that group 1 was the white-collar woman, group 2 was her husband, and group 3 was her rich director who fell in love with her.
What would they do to deal with that complicated situation? After putting her husband, kids and her director on the scale, she chose the director. This was the winner:

If the above situation may be happened in your real life, what will you do?
We must say that we had a great time together. It would be better if we had our own dreams and always made big efforts to reach the target.
From our bottom of heart, we always hope that you have been trying for best for your bright future. Thank you so much for coming there that day and hope to see you next Thursday!
