GALEC 2 : Report for Workshop" TIME" 2/5/2013

At 6.30 p.m., everyone gathered in a circle and we get started!!! A little thing which made us worried was that there were only few members coming to Galec because of the bad weather. Hopefully, there would be more afterwards.

Let’s get started!!!
Today, we saw not too much new face, just old faces, so we decided to pass the “Introduction” part and go straight to the “Playing game” part. The game, which was called “Historical Event”, gave us a lot of fun and laugh unexpectedly.

The most unforgettable thing was when the MC read the last question, which was “When was the latest change in the price of gasoline in Vietnam recently”, no one in the room could answer it. The MC had to give a lot of instructions and at last, one member find out the correct answer, which was 26 April.
After that, we divided all members into 4 groups for the second part “Free talk”. They were apparently excited to share their most regretful thing so far with other members as well as their ideas about time management skill.


So excited!!!
The first presenter was a very famous member at GALEC, both in the past and at the present – Mr.Tai. First of all, he told us 2 stories. We were absolutely shocked when knowing that the average amount of time a Chinese worker at industrial zones spent in the whole life with his parents was 20 days, including Tet holiday. After that, he gave us some lessons about life which was that we should take our time more to spend with our parents because money was not all and it couldn’t buy happiness. It was so touching that everyone seemed to be speechless.

The second one was a very pretty girl who talked about the most regretful thing she has done so far, which was attending at her university because of her illness.

So sad for her 
And the last one was a man sharing some advice not to quit your university immediately when you found it boring but to listen to the advice of your friends and family first.

And here was the last part, also the most interesting part: debate with the topic “Women after getting married and giving birth SHOULD stay home and do housework instead of keeping their jobs because they can NOT manage time well.”

The affirmative side.

The negative side
We had a lot of funny arguments like “How can men work in an office without women. What will be their motivation to go to work every day?” – from Mr.Tuan or some strong ones like “So why women had to take 4 years to attend at university and then just stayed home as a slave of husband’s family?”. Finally, each team protected their point very intelligently and as a consequence of that, no team admitted being beaten.
We ended this workshop with laughs and funs.
